In what could be the biggest backtrack in the gaming console wars, Microsoft has issued a statement reversing their 24 hour online requirement and used games restrictions for the Xbox One.
Brilliant news for xbox loyalists ! Microsoft moving in the right direction finally with the xbox one.
E3 Ubisoft Conference
It was a well presented show albiet a tad strange opening up with Rocksmith: 2014 which was terribly awkward to watch as the aged musician gave a demo of the very ambitious title. I wasn’t too thrilled but a great concept that if done well could set the standard for other games in the genre (rockband, guitar hero).
Then moving onto the more substantial games, the soon-to-be-released Splinter-Cell : Blacklist. It was a very busy and hectic presentation on-screen, the game itself looks fantastic packed with excitment, gagets, and, action but it looks as if its starting to move away from the stealth, it’s early days however it was more focused on action than the suspence of not getting caught and taking targets down one-by-one from the shadows and more to ‘LUL EXPLOSIONS…. OH SHIT TERRORISTS FACKING KILL EM’ ……. thats a tad extreme but it’s a concern especially since I enjoyed the last game so much with it’s gritty back-to-reality story, now it seems to be following the same tired story line of terrorism that we’ve seen in countless other games and movies.
I AM NOT COMMENTING ON TRAILS, THAT INTERACTIVE RABBITS TV SHOW OR THAT DANCE GAME THAT THE FUCKING PRESENTER COULDN’T EVEN TAKE SERIOUSLY.
The crew, I was very impressed by it actually it’s pretty much everything I would expect from a next-gen racing game, its open world which I love, the customisation seems very deep and detailed, and the whole seamless online co-op/ crew v. crew aspect looks incredible. Then there’s the scale MY.GOD they said the whole of america and I actually beleive them for once. I have high hopes for this title they could really do something special here, although I don’t think I’ll be playing it for the story very much it definately seems like the type of game I could happily spend hours roaming through making friends with other players them teaming up and facing off with other crews.
ok…. okk…. THE FUCKING WATCH BITCH ! Although nothing new was really revealed I think they’ve sort of realised how big this game is going to be now and are going to be abit more secretive with details from now on but it looks so good ! The whole concept is both scary but exhilarating, the power to hack into anything free-flow in an openworld environment of chicago that effects the world around the player, with a killer story that has already drawn me in. It was a brief trailer with a small presentation and update but nonetheless I will be following this title.
Assasins creed is coming along extremely well the improvements they’ve made are incredible however it’s running the risk of becoming a franchise that doesn’t end this will be the 6th game, however with all the new features I shouldn’t reallly be complaining. I FUCKING LOVE PIRATES, it’s a fantastic world the developrs have built with tons of exploration, side quests and activities to do it’s set to be another blockbuster hit, especially with the promise of naval combat, looting, and all the things that encompass being a pirate however few details have been released about the story I wonder how this ties into the lore of assasins creed and how it progresses it further with this new installment.
….. then there’s the divide …. the game ubisoft had tucked away till the last minute to whip from out it’s ass. I was impressed. It genuinly looks spectacular but it looks set to be a console only mmo ? I mean I have no quarell with that I just think it will be a great experiment to see if the next generation has the sack to carry it. It’s going to sink or evolve into a fucking bird and transcend the atmosphere and really open up a new world to console based gaming previously unheard of outside of a pc. That sounds a bit far I know but I can’t wait to learn more about it and really get into the details of how the online experience works especially since in can intergrate the use of tablets and phones, they may not be full players like the guy in the demo could only contol a drone however I had an absolute nerd gasm. Especially the setting of the game in a world where nothing is realy certain everything has been shaken by this epidemic …….
Ubisofts conference has been the best of the day I am sick the the back teeth of fucking sports games and tv I wANT GAAAAAAAMES and unbisoft provided, albeit a mixed batch but there were some absolute gems.
It’s now up to sony, the show I’m probably most amped for, as I’ve recently migrated to ps3 I am now extremely interested in the ps4 and what it will bring to gaming along with all the juicy, delicious, exclusives it has to offer.
When I was little I thought being an adult meant not having a bed time but I’ve come to realize that it just means being in charge of my own bed time and it turns out that I am not equipped to handle that responsibility.
